Privacy

Privacy policy

The short version: we only keep what you give us, we only use it to do what you asked, and you can have it deleted at any time. The detail below explains exactly what that means.

Who we are

MathBikes ("we", "us") operates this website and is the data controller for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact info@mathbikes.com.

What we collect

We collect only what you actively give us. If you subscribe to alerts, request a savings report, join the newsletter or use the contact form, we store your email address and any name or message you provide. We do not ask for, or store, payment details, addresses or sensitive personal data.

Calculators run in your browser

Every calculator and the Find-My-E-bike quiz run entirely on your device. The numbers you enter - your weight, budget, commute, bike prices - are processed locally to show your result and are never sent to or stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to email yourself a report.

How we use your information

We use your email solely to deliver what you requested (a result, a report, price-drop alerts) and, if you opted in, an occasional useful update or deals digest. We never sell your data, and we don't share it for third-party advertising.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process your email on the basis of your consent (newsletter and alerts) or to take steps you requested (sending a report, answering a contact message). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

Email and our processor

We use Brevo (Sendinblue) as our email service provider to store contacts and send messages on our behalf. Brevo processes data under its own privacy terms and appropriate data-processing agreements. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Cookies and analytics

We keep tracking to a minimum. We use only what's necessary to run the site and understand aggregate, anonymous usage. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers. Where any analytics or embedded content is used, it is configured to respect your privacy.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a possible purchase. That happens on their site under their privacy policy - see our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Data retention

We keep your contact details for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete them. Unsubscribing removes you from active sending; you can also request full erasure at any time.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@mathbikes.com and we'll respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

MathBikes is intended for adults making a considered purchase. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised date, and where required we'll notify subscribers by email.
